RE: (ukha_d) ShowShifter vs. TiVo

TiVo's are great, except when they break....

Pete (2 weeks on and STILL waiting for a replacement, and getting sick to death
of having to watch adverts and miss all my programs...grrr.....)

Like Mark I ran SS for months, I loved it. Ok I had a few problems, it
crashed a couple of times but most of the time it worked. Then came the
TiVo, its just in a different league, it does not just work its a
milestone product. IMHO its one of the few really sorted bits of Home
Auto stuff, its hard to think whats wrong with it !
If I had to give things away it would be one of the last things to give
up.

Nik
I think I'm qualfied to answer this, I built a PC just to use for SS and
ran it for months.  However, as has been well documented by a certain
Scotish bloke, I'm afraid there is simple no comparrison between the two
systems.  TiVo every time.
