Yes, sorry I did not read the original post, I was assuming you were
using it to switch some external source. However yes, it should work.
Remember its not a 5V supply its actualy the LED drive supplied from the
emmitter of a transister, it will be 5v when the led is transmiting the
rest of the time its Ov because the transister is switched off.

>From memory the inside the HV there is a jumper which you can remove to
disable the internal transmitter.
