Re: Re: Comfort control of heating.

The trouble is what you need varies depending on the style of your current = heating and whether you want to keep the existing timer etc.

I have "Y" Plan heating with a single 3 way valve. This requires = a 240V signal for "Heating On", "Hot Water On" but also= "Hot Water OFF".

My setup is wired as per http://www.eatworms.org.uk/HA/heating1.gif and for normal operatio= n requires the "Hot Water OFF" to be fed from the controller. Bot= h the "Hot Water ON" and "Hot Water OFF" feeds are disc= onnected by the Comfort operated relay and the outgoing "Hot Water ON&= quot; feed made live -therby overriding the controller whether it was "= ;On" or "Off".

If I turn off or remove the old controller - I would have to add a live fee= d to replace the normally closed "Hot Water OFF" feed from the co= ntroller.

The relays I used (which are arguably overkill - but do have nice screw ter= minal, din mount bases) were from Maplins. Codes.QC79 for the relay and QC8= 6 for the base.

I did look at the whole Smartfit solution but =A315 worth of relays versus = Comfort UCM + new valve etc etc just didnt stack up.
