Need some wisdom from some of the electronics experts on
the list before I go and blow myself up :-)

Just had new, motorized garage doors fitted and want to play :-)
In the manual it says there is an "options relay" which are
"potential-free contacts that allow the connection, for example,
of an external light.". It also says that "To feed an external light,
external voltage must be used.".

It says there are 3 terminals, closed, common and open and that
the max. load is 2.5A / 30V DC or 500W / 250V AC.

To me, this sounds like a simple relay that I could connect to a
powerflash interface so that when the door opens it would trigger
an X10 event. And since I have 2 doors I should be able to connect
these in series and have the closed state only achieved when both
doors are closed. By doing this I can open the door and have lights
come on and a bell ring in the house.

Sound reasonable?

Bov!
