If you go for the Micro link units they are easy to mount in ANY
surface
as they have a front bezel and a threaded barel. I've got the white
(490-00W) versions and have mounted them directly into the plasterboard
ceiling in the corners of each room, very discrete!

If you use the dinky-link ones you can mount behind speaker grills etc.

I have a couple of receivers on screened 6 core which was already in
place over 20-30ft runs. They are fine. However if you can ground one
end of the shield all the better. (So I'm told!).
Many thanks

Yes, LA and, I think, Laser both carry stocks.

Yes, I have for several runs.

Never tried it and TBH, I don't think I would, see below and Rob's post

Because these things are *seriously* sensitive I wouldn't. I did have a
Dallas stat on the same CAT5 run as an RX unit and I got hell's teeth
trouble with interference, put the RX unit on its own run and it was
fine. Now whether that was an isolated case or not, I honestly don't
know but the only way to find out is to try a dry run, without drilling
holes and see what happens. Obviously having a cunning "Plan B"
ready to
go as well! ;)
