Hi Jerome

I demo'd a large number of amps around this price bracket. I went for
the Marantz 5300. Have a good search round the net and then get Richer
Sounds to price match it, I got mine down to =A3350 from their quoted
=A3450. 
I'm more of an audio than video person and the musicality of this unit
is truly excellent. 

My set up is as follows:

Toshiba 42WP27 Plasma (Same as a Panasonic 5 series.)
Marantz 5300 Amp
Pioneer 656a DVD
Mordant Short Sub
Sonance in ceiling speakers for front, centre and surround. (This bit
was very expensive but with the custom made enclosures built into the
ceiling joists and then insulated with rockwool the sound quality and
imagery is stunning. Best of all they are totally discrete for maximum
SWMBO approval.
