[OT] Central Heating Wiring

As part of my rewire, I'm looking to replace the heating circuits.

Is it essential to have heat resistant cable for the run into the
airing
cupboard to the pump / valve ?

Current wiring is all in the airing cupboard with the timer just outside
the
door, I was planning on retaining the wiring junction box (well, new
one,
but in same location) in the airing cupboard but moving the timer
downstairs
to kitchen (easy run as it's below the airing cupboard)

I don't intend on using the immersion heater, but will put in a
dedicated
feed back to the consumer unit so there's a contingency, is there any
reason
not to "pinch" a feed (fused of course) for the heating controls
? (At the
moment there's a surface mounted wire running into the back of the
socket
the immersion was plugged into that feeds the heating controls, but
that's
the least of the horrors I've found when lifting floor boards.)

I presume that if I wanted to automate this at a later date, I could drop
a
couple of relays in parallel with the timer output ?
