Mine too. Apparently Toshiba is notorious for this. (I didn't know that
when 
I bought it). I contacted the Toshiba technical support people who told me
that they just dont "do" hidden and/or discrete IR commands, so
guess what 
make of TV or video, or DVD, or HiFi, (or any item of consumer electronics
for that matter), i *wont* be considering when my next upgrade comes 
round...
