I think you can get what you want but you'll need to use a 3rd party
.DLL/OCX. If you check out the CCRP
(Common controls replacement project) at http://www.mvps.org/ccrp/controls/ccrpcontrols.htm
they have a high performance timer, which is imho excellent... this may
make you life easier.
