Hi Ian,

If you download the application, you can find the schematic in the help
file.
More than that, you can use any LIRC/WINLIRC compatible receiver (data
received on DCD line, powered by RTS line and high means no signal. A simple
integrated IR receiver (like TSOP 1736-TSOP1738) is enough.
You can build the receiver directly in a DB-9 conector case.
