Hi,
I make some tests. Theoretical limit is 5m per
segment for a maximum of 5 segments.
Practically, using STP cable I get reliable
connection even at 10m. It is possible to get even more.
You can use the 8 wire like that:
- 4 for the standard usb pins
- 2 for power supply GND
- 2 for +5V
for the powered hub.
Take care that it is possible not to be able
to use
2 webcams on the same USB hub. Usually, one cam request aprox. 75% of the
bandwidth.
