This is actually the approach I am going to take as well. It is
relatively cheap and pretty fool proof. The only possible concern are
the cable connecting the cameras to AV hub which in my install will
be quite long. I have done some tests with CAT5 and it seems OK so
I'll use that.
As for control, I'll be using HomeAutomator (what else ;-)) which
will have buttons for each camera that send a command to HomeVision
which will in turn send the IR to change the source on the AV hub.
Of course there are other solutions out there, but this is the only
one I will try.
