Usually APs use “dual diversity” antennas, and software inside uses the antenna with the strongest signal to communicate with each client.

Looking at my AP , the aerials don't seem to be a screw on type, but just some plastic sheathing that covers a wire sticking up.

So, question is, I presume the signal output is more of a parabolic shape, so which way do the aerials go, and does one send and one receive ?
