Re: Fibre optic lighting

I'm about to do something vaguely similar, primarily because I was able to
acquire some duff fibre LAN cables from work... (the "because I
can"
factor...) - I have about 10 off 10 meter SC to SC cables, each cable being
2 strands, giving 20 useable fibre points. I plan to cut the connectors
off,
split the pairs into 2 single strands, and lay them into the mortar in some
brickwork I'm having done in the back garden. I'll bring all 20
"tails"
together into a single bundle, and secure them to "some suitable light
source" (yet to be determined).

My builders have worked with fibre-optics in gardens before, courtesy of
their work for Diarmuid on Home Front, and so already have some experience
of what should work...

The work should be hapenning over the next week or so, so I'll let you know
how it goes...
