RE: Alternatives to Comfort?

Patrick,

I may have a possible solution, but it's still in the very early prototype stages (To be honest a lot of the design is still in my head - Though I have tested the feasibility)

I've been doing some work reverse engineering an ADE  karisma panel.  At the 'moment' I'm working on prototype to read events whilst armed (That's all I wanted).  The panel is really flexible and uses a simple two wire (plus power & gnd for sensors that require it) system. I had intended to set-up one of the programs as a 'home'  mode, that way I'd be able to 'see' each event as it caused a 'silent' alarm.
After it's working I'm going to look further into reading all events,  but that's a little way off as yet.

It's definately NOT a working solution at the moment, and you'd need some electronics knowledge to get it going.

P.S. To the comfort guys out there, comfort looks like a fantasticly flexible  soloution.   The reason I did'nt go down the comfort route was that I'm an geeky electronics engineer and enjoy playing with this stuff.

Any suggestions on self-install alternatives to comfort? The only
comfort feature I *really* over and above intrusion detection is a
continuous serial output of all events (PIR triggers etc). Relay
control, IR control a nice extra; voice interaction and dialer really
not required at all.
