Re: Neo vs Pronto

The friend in question below has now bought a Neo.

Hes having trouble learning one of his remotes (an old Akai). The neo wont
learn it at all. My pronto will *just*. and only if I hold the akai remote
right up against the learning window of the Pronto. The learnt codes
themselves do seem quite long within Prontoedit.

2 questions really..

Anyone else had problems with the Neo learning some remotes ?

If i have a learnt IR code, are there any utilities that can take that (in
pronto format) and decode it - and then regenerate a "clean"
equivalent cod=
e
?

Thanks

Dean

Subject: [ukha_d] Neo vs Pronto

A colleague is considering a pronto style remote for the first time.

I have a pronto (Uk 1mb version) and have extolled its virtues (ok bored
him) to the point hes convinced. The only question is now which model.....

He feels the normal pronto is a little big and lacks hard buttons.
Neo is slightly limited in terms of software and availableity of example
(n)cf files
New RU-950 is too expensive.

So the actual question is, how limited in terms of programming is the NEO
compared to the Pronto - what *can't* you do ?

Is there anything else in the sub =A3150 bracket worth considering ?

Thanks

Dean
