Sadly Paul it's not the fault of the satellite guys it's the culture we
live
in, we're faced with similar problems as well in our line of work too.

If the company does the cabling for you then, in law, they are seen as
having a responsibility for it and if it either doesn't work, or the box
then fails you could pursue a claim with them for damages. That aside, if
the box is under warranty and it fails Sky would be within their rights to
tell you that they didn't install it therefore no warranty is offered.

Welcome to the wonderful politically correct system enforced by stupid
legislation! ;)
