Hi Marcus,

I can never remember either but safest idea is to search on Google for the
drive part No and get the manufacturers datasheet. This is what I always
do=
.
Haven't blown one up yet?!!! :o)

Subject: [ukha_d] 2.5" IDE drives.. pin 1 ?

Anyone know how to determine which is pin 1 on an IDE 2.5" drive ?

I just bought a couple of Tablet PC's (from eBay, Compaq TC1000 and
Toshiba Prot=E9g=E9 3500) and since neither have any form of CD/Floppy
driv=
e the
best way I can figure to make an emergency reinstall disc is to Ghost the
existing hard disc. Unfortunately Ghost won't run under XP (requires a
reboot floppy) so my only option is to pull the drive out and plug it into
=
a
desktop PC. I have a cheap adapter but the drive can be attached either way
around.. don't want to send the volts down the wrong pins!
