Hi Rob,

How many wires did you connect ?

If it was only two then you have connected them to the wrong terminals.

If its all three, then try reversing the wires you have on 2 & 5. With
"proper" BT phones, if you get the A&B (2&5) reversed
between sockets you
get continuous ringing.
