I'm using the wrong term. I'm not quite sure what the circuit is doing,
however all I am doing is duplicating the actions of the key switch, so it
should cause any problems.

No idea what so ever. I'm going to do a load of measuring at the weekend to
see if I can get to the bottom of it. If I can't work it out, I'll just
swallow my pride and have to pay for an electrician.
