Can I also remind people that there are a large number of sites that
provide FREE Internet access over 802.11b.

www.consume.net holds a database of quite a few of them.

Coverage is, of course, very variable. London does well, but
increasingly smaller towns have coverage.

Local to me- Horsham now has three free hotspots, including one slam
bang in the middle of Pieris Place, the main shopping centre.
