On a recent trip to the US, my parents visited a particularly sparkly

and high tech shopping mall. They were looking around one of the many

gadget shops (for my birthday present lets hope!) when my Mother heard a

familiar cry. It took a while to find the source - a roomba had

encountered a particularly nasty silk dressing gown embroidered with an

oriental scene of trees and birds. The poor thing had sucked up the belt

and was well and truly stuck. She tried for a while to free the poor

thing but no avail - the only course of action was to disconnect it's

little battery :-( They tried reasoning with the store assistant that it

would be happy living the rest of it's short life at home with them and

one of it's cousins (that I bought them for Christmas) but were sadly

unsuccessful.

I would like to say there was a happy ending but fear the worst for the

little creature :-(

Paul.
