I used to subscribe to both magazines but I have dropped Elektor a while
ago. Although Elektor's projects are usually more sophisticated than
EPE's, they are turning more into kit advertising than construction. Where
EPE would release object and quite often source codes for the projects
featured (lots of PICs), Elektor would often offer preprogrammed parts
only. I know they are not the authors of most articles but their
publishing conditions allow such virtual kit-advertising exercises to be
published as construction articles.

Another excellent computer application biased magazine is of course the
U.S. based Circuit Cellar (www.circuitcellar.com). This one is my favorite
with both printed and PDF format available.
