Router for satellite dish

A pal of mine has a satellite connection to the internet, sold to him by
that nice Mr B Telecom.  It currently works fine, but only supports a
single PC, and Mr T wants the tidy sum of 1000 notes to upgrade the
system so that all of the PCs on his network can gain access.  Am I
right in thinking that all he needs is a 50 quid ADSL router with DHCP
capability, or is the satellite modem something dangerously different to
normal ADSL?
