I my case, the STB presents a standard 10MB ethernet interface...

My setup is...


STB----------Vigor 2200---------10/100 switch--------internal LAN


The MAC of the WAN port of the Vigor 2200 is th one which is registered
with 
NTL, ans is the interface that is assigned the exteral IP address.
