Stuart,

Surely if we get the structure of the DB right then we may not br able
to
get the own brand product right but at least we will know that it is a
generic Tesco item as they are identified as the manufacturer.  If we
can
get the bulk of the database from somewhere (few pounds each ??) then
the
small remaining collaborative piece is idnentifiying the own brands.

I can't seem to find the ukha_barcode list in yahoo anymore ????

I've already got the snapshot, it's about 50% of the available DB. I've
not
looked but it's mainly US products and I've found only a few matches
when
looking for UK products.

There is also the issue of supermarket brands which won't appear in any
UPC
DB.
