Dean,
Thanks for this. I had been doing lots of googling, but all based on
searches to do with "Firewall".
The thought of simply serching for that hadn't occurred! Doh! I then,
also, discovered that the PC wasn't Service-Pack-2d, so had to patch
that before the registry setting worked.
Thanks tremendously - now all working.
Next step - turn on external hiding for the web server :-)
Regards,
Mark

>From memory IP forwarding is not avaiable via the gui in Win2K Pro
(only
in Server/Advanced Server )/ I'm sure it can be enabled in the registry
though. A quick google suggests:-
To enable TCP/IP Forwarding use the following registry hack:
Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
Name: IPEnableRouter
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1
is the key to edit.
usual caveats about changing the registry ;-) etc etc.

Having trouble getting this to work.
Firewall-1 NG 3DES FP3.
ADSL modem (zyxel).
Set up a simple rule base that should allow anything on the LAN to
access the Internet for any service, NATted behind the IP address of
the
firewall's ADSL card.
- When ICS is turned on, UDP applications work, but TCP applications
give a variety of exciting SYN errors
- When ICS is turned off, nothing works
I'm assuming that what I need is what USED TO BE the "IP
forwarding"
option on the old NT4 TCP/IP advanced settings... But I can't find it
anywhere on Win2kPro.
Any ideas?
M.
