If the signal is far too bright and washed out then the video level is
too
high. Try an additional 75 ohm termination resistor across the output or
put
a 100 or 150 ohm resistor in series with the output to see if that drops
the
level to a more acceptable one.
A sign of over termination eg conneccted to two devices in parallel is
a
dark picture with quite strong colour.

The gamma isn't great..
My problem (I think) is that my projector isn't very forgiving of poor
video
sources.. This may well be why I was sooo unimpressed by the Apex DVD
Player.
Whereas the Tivo or Sky Digibox produces sharp, vibrant video, the TV out
on
the Epia boards is a bit "fuzzy" and insanely bright and washed
out.
