I don't believe that the currently listed seller (who is not the same
seller
as the original auction appeared under) is actually getting emails - I
think
it is another 'hijacked' account -it is strange as seller is a German
company with all auctions in Euros apart from this particular one - if I
email the listed seller he does respond & says he is UK based and it is
his
auction - that in a way is why I haven't posted the auction ID - just in
case it's genuine ! However other emails about the auction (and the
responses) are coming from yet another UK eBay address altogether - but
this
could just be an approach from another seller who has seen me listed as a
bidder.

I have contacted eBay both UK and US (36 hours ago), as has the original
seller who noticed he was listing an item he hadn't entered - they have not
contacted me back though. One curious thing

this was a 'pre register auction' you had to email the seller to be
allowed
(unblocked) to bid - that's how they got my eBay ID..

Motto - "be careful out there" (HSB) - if it's too good to be
true it probably is !

Not at all comforting, but not a lot the police can do, I guess, until a
crime IS committed.

Is there any way you contact the listed seller?

Have you tried ebay yet? If they take the sale off, that would at least
stop
people losing their money.
