It works on Business Highway or a standard ISDN2e line with CLIP as an
extra service but these cost more than HH.

Do you have homeseer or anything like that?

Oh well - that knackered that plan then :(

I'm using HH - whats the point in Draytek selling this facility in the
UK ??

I guess I'll have to use peer to peer dial-in from office to home. And
when wife is working there - she can use VPN.... I think...

Dean,

Dean,

The call out facility that I think you are talking about was, last time
I looked, called 'Remote Activation'. Quite simply the router would look
for CLI showing an incoming call from a specific number, once recognised
this would trigger dial out to the Internet only.

This will not work with a Home Highway line as that does not offer CLIP
on the ISDN service. This is the problem I would face if I wanted to use
this feature on mine. The only way around it I could think of was to
have a meteor or something similar interfaced to my HomeSeer machine
with HomeSeer triggering a dial out on recognising the particular number
I would use.

There are problems with this though. What if I wanted to trigger dial
out without causing the home phone to ring - ok put it on the second
number on the Home Highway, but, do I really want to invest in a second
CLI device just for this??

Regards

David
