RE: Soundbug
Is this not the same technology that's used by many other manufacturers
for=
'hidden speakers' and other snazzy looking speakers made of glass etc?

This is great.=20
It always suprises me what talents we can find on this group.
Of course, for =A330 I don't expect it to be Hi-Fi, otherwise every home
would already have it.
But it's really hard to figure out what does it really sound like from
those reviews. I beleive that reviewer's expectations were much higher
then mine, but I still wander how does it really sound like. Is it like
a broken speaker with lot of rattling and hissing, or more like a cheap
transistor, mono and not perfectly clear, but understendable.
What kind of volume it can achieve?
Will this technology ever be able to e.g. replace surround speakers, by
using plasterboard wall? Will it be possible to achieve Hi-Fi quality,
if cost is not a problem?
Cheers,
Nik

When we designed soundbug it was as a LOW-FI gimmick using a
state-of-the-art technology not previously used outside of the
military/space industry.... Primarily it was designed with kids and
their
walkmans in mind but unfortunately the client advertised it as Hi-Fi and
all
the gadget mags slated the performance but loved the idea...=20
I am not a retailer or the manufacturer so we recieve no commision or
anything else, our job finished at the prototype...Just clearing that
up...
It is stacks of fun and as you will find if you get one, well made
indeed...
Using it to enhance the poor speaker quality of a PDA for voice Nav is
an
ideal and very practical application of 'Soundbug' sticking it to the
bath
isn't but I am intrigued so will try this evening.. :-)))
The Omnivox is indeed better but given the production cost target we
were
given thats no surprise... with a ?200 target we would have done a lot
better than the FEOnic (please allow for a little trumpet blowing.. :-))
I
think you'll agree that they are stacks of fun if you buy them in the
right
frame of mind..
Enjoy... or don't :-)

According to this: http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/review/26/1/321.html

it
seems that sound quality is not brilliant...

I'd be interested to know too.
I'd thought about attaching one or two to the bath for descrete
listening.
I suppose that the water would seriously affect the sound quality (if
there
is any...)
