The pump has in-built flow switches so I'd need to dig around in the
internals to get a feed after the switches, but before the pump itself.

But maybe I'll see if there any obvious "inspection" covers
tonight ;)

I'd buy a few more and doubtless end up buying extra expansion

Do you really need a current detector?

A relay with a mains voltage coil connected in parallel with the
(switched) pump supply should do the trick, I'd have thought, if you
can arrange it such that it complies with the wiring regs.
