RE: Chocolate XBox
It's also short sighted to simply put the "limited supply" logo
on the full
product details link rather than on the rewards overview. I clicked on a
most of offers and nearly all were shown as limited supply with no way of
knowing how much longer they will remain to be available. They are keen to
attract you to the scheme with the adverts for products but the stock
levels
must be very low to run out so soon. I doubt there were hundreds of people
all out bulk buying chocolate to take advantage of this so it seems to be
either completely inadequate planning by Mars or a cynical attempt to gain
a
few percentage points of market share by upsetting more than a few
consumers
along the way.
I would not imagine that anyone would be getting shafted at the prices they
were offered at, neither Uncle Bill or Argos would be involved as a loss
making exercise even though the hardware itself is heavily subsidised (I
guess it won't be too long before M/S are almost giving away the console to
help prop up the sales numbers). Mars have a decent marketing budget and
have chosen to spend some on the rewards scheme. I suppose it's just
another
example of a poorly constructed rewards scheme leading to consumer
disappointment.

Shafted or not, they still were advertising the deal well into today.
The choc is neither here nor there, Nigela Lawson has some great recipes
that call for large volumes of chocolate.
I find it distasteful that they are still putting out the advert and not
letting you check the shop till after you have registered. They have now
pulled the Xbox advert but continue to display the logos all over the site.
