Boys and girls,

Slight issue with my home network that I can't seem to work out.=20

The box is a P4 1.8, 480GB of RAIDed hard drives and a couple of decent
network cards. All sweet. However whenever I map to it from another
machine it will map very quickly and then take a good 15-20 seconds to
bring up the directory listing. This also happens when you open the
drive after lets say an hour of not using it.

The other issue is that when playing MP3s thru WinAmp the spectrum
analyzer seems to be running slowly. This is all so odd. Files can be
copied off at about 50mbits/second (not bad considering the network runs
on crappy on Netgear hubs) so speed of connections doesn't seem to be
the problem.

Any ideas? I can't think what else to try.

Thank you,

G
