I guess so - I’ve got a couple of indoor ones lying around but
wonder if they’re suitable for external use?

Hi Paul
Could you not use a flush mounted security reed switch ????

Can anyone recommend a sensor for a garden gate (solid wood type). I
think I want some kind of contact closure type or something else that
will tell me when its open (even a crack) - so I know when my dog's
trying to escape.

Paul.
