Well, they could be, but the press release specifically says "New
antenna
technology allows greater range than ever before"

Remember, it takes two to tango as it were.. you don't need to ramp the
power up to extend the range: if you use a more sensitive antenna or better
filtering, in fact, anything that improves the SnR, you will get more range
without needing to cook the birds sitting on your roof ;)
