Guys,
There's no mention of any GPS service degradation on the USCG website,
which
normally has this sort of information posted . If the power levels were
dropped, I would guess that would be to protect the constellation from the
solar storms that caused the pretty spectacular aurorae last week, rather
than the lunar eclipse, but they don't normally do that without posting the
information for civilian users (rather like the shipping forecast)

Of course, if it's only started since thursday, it could well be part of
the
security arrangements for Bush's visit: the US still uses "dilution of
precision" within areas of military interest, that may include the UK
for
the next few days..
