Someone posted a few days ago about the Poet 6000 touch screen computer
connected via power over LAN.
Well, I got this reply after asking about it, from DSP-Design who build and
sell this unit.
Hope this is of some interest?

We do indeed have a computer terminal powered by Ethernet using standard
CAT5 cable. We have demonstration product currently and are in the process
of final product design after test marketing the product.
The result has been great, everyone who has seen it has expressed great
enthusiasm. The unit pictured on the Data sheet, which will differ
slightly
>from
volume depending on the precise configuration. I expect to have a product
to ship buy the end of the year.
If you have any ideas on screen size on peripherals required this would be
useful. Please bear in mind the 13W max power budget, as this tends to
limit the screen size and power hungry peripherals. However if you take a
smaller screen then the screen can be brighter, with more backlights or we
can look at more peripherals.
Later we will introduce a RISC based unit running CE.NET or Linux and this
will add almost 5W to the power available to the unit.
