Frank,
points well noted.

I had heard of the dualtec sensors being a bit of a b_gger to
set up (probably due to the external sensing you talk about).
We have a lot of wildlife around our place (foxes, pheasants,
deer, etc) so this could be a problem. Mind you presumably
only if the pir detected them too...

btw the windows aren't that big - maybe 600 x 600 each, but
branches waving outside them might be interesting...

I think I'll get one dualtec and give it a try. If it goes off
while I wander around outside the garage then I'll probably send
it back...

P.S. any recommendations on places to get alarm cable from at a
sensible price. I think I might needsome more...
p.p.s. should I be using stranded or solid cores, and screened or
unscreened ??
