Good question.

Its really supposed to be comfort for the occupier so they know its
working.
Not all bells have them - some people ask for them to be put inside bell so
cant be seen.

We actually had one guy ask us to pull them down further into lens as his
wasnt as bright as another down the street :)

I think the comfort sort of proves its working - no LED means DECOY :)

I've often wondered about the merits of comfort LEDs in a bell box.
Doesn't it just signify that the alarm's not working if they're off
for any reason?
