OT but HELP - Video Diary room software needed

Hi all i know this isnt quite on track for this group but thers alot
of relevant experience in here so here goes, im on the lookout for
some software to record a big brother style video diary room at my
wedding ideally id like it to be able to

Use a DV cam as the source
Record sound in time with the video
Capture at a decent fps rate
Encode to @ least mpeg2 in realtime

and importantly be able to be stoppped and started using motion
detection to make it as easy as possible for the old and drunk to
use .

So far ive looked at a range of webcam software

Watcher
Gotcha

But they are all nearly runs but never fullfill all the criteria ,
does anyone here have any ideas?
