RE: FW: XBox Question

Rob,

I was thinking of replacing my XBox fan with a Papst replacement, however
the XBox fan seems to be an odd 70mm x 70mm size.

Depending on what bios you're running in the modchip (I'm running the Evox
M7 bios) it may be that causing the problem. The M7 has the fan speed
cranked up for better cooling when running bigger drives.

There is a utility prog that lets you edit the M7 binary, one of the
options
is to alter the fan speed, which I've set at a bit higher that the 'normal'
20%, but lower than the 'improved' 50% so much quieter now... :)

Subject: [ukha_d] FW: Xbox Question

Hi All

A couple of quick xbox questions:

Has anyone fitted quieter fans to their xbox? If so which ones and is it
easy :-) My xbox is the noisiest thing in the rack :-(

Someone (Possibly Gareth?) posted that the advanced scart cable outputs
s-video and scart simultaneously, I bought the said cable from Amazon but
it
will not give simultaneous output, I have to disconnect the scart to get
an
s-video signal. Is their a fix for this? Or did I buy the wrong one?
