Tried Skype on beside system last night and it was rubbish.  Turned out
that
the VIA500 CPU was running at 100%.  Changed to the old P3-900 laptop and
CPU usage was around 30% and quality was back to normal.

Strange that an iPAQ has enough horsepower but not the VIA.
