RE: [OT] Stripping
I used nitromous firstly with a scrapper and then with wire wool (not for
the faint hearted, stings like hell and you sure going to get some on you )
do wear rubber gloves and neutralise afterwards.
Then I decided to go for a combination of orbital and belt sanders, but I
still needed the nitromous to get rid of a couple of bits.
To do it without chemicals you could try a cabinet makers plane or a cut
piece of glass. Both work on the same principle where you drag the edge
perpendicularly across the paint removing a small amount each time.
I found that paste stained the wood and I then spent some time trying to
get
them back to the same colour.
I guess it depends how intricate the mouldings are and how fussy SWMBO is.

For those that read this at the gutter level, paint stripping.
Anyone got an recommendations for removal of gloss paint from wooden door
frames, with a view to varnishing the stripped frame ?
Regards
Stuart
