Re: Re: Phone cable wiring for HomeVision Phone/Serial add on...
Hi Frank,
It's a unit I'm "trying before buying"...
I'm pretty sure it should work in the UK (or maybe only the mainland ;o))
Not sure what could be wrong but I need to sort out the cable first...
I have disconnected all other devices from the line - only thing connected
is Phone add-on and a phone into the master socket.
All extesnsions disconnected.
Caller ID - yer 'avin a laugh... NTL have decided that people in N.I. don't
want caller ID...!!!
Thanks,
Andy.

Hi Andy
Is the unit a brand new unit sourced in the UK ...???....I
recently tried to get the phone/serial unit but apparently it doesnt detect
the Aussie dial tone and did some googling looking for a chip that was
suitable for aussie...Looks like theres a different chip for the UK..
Cant you trace the connections on the pcb for the line in ????
Frank

DTMF
tones, no joy sending DTMF or detecting on/off hook conditions (plus added
some noise to the line).
