I've got an inkjet CD printer.

You can buy a sealant spray that not only stinks, but also seals the
surface
of the CD and protects the print from running.

Monochrome only, or different coloured ink in several passes if you really
feel clever.

I'll stick with my Epson 950 producing pretty CDs as I do try to keep CDs
and water separate from one another. ;)

Oh and I've had printed CDs in the car, susceptible to moisture through
condensation and they've been fine.
