Fw: ADSL bonding

The linksys option below is NOT bonded - it's load balancing. You get
two=20
IPs and traffic is aggregated across both. One download thread for example=
=20
would only go down one pipe.

Bonded is at a level lower than the protocol - IP is ABOVE the two=20
channels.

This was a quote from a supplier the company I work for deal with for=20
kit to support bonded adsl:

If that is the solution you wish to use I would recommend 1 x Linksys=20
router attached to 2 x dlink adsl modems connected via the RJ45 ports,=20
and then configure the router with the appropriate instructions=20
therefore allowing the router to run concurrent dsl connections. However=20
we would recommend using 2 separate ISP's this will allow for a fail=20
over solution should one of the adsl lines go down.

Cisco Option
The reason why we have chosen to look at the Cisco1721-ADSL Router with=20
an additional ADSL card and this will only function correctly if the ISP=20
has given you multiple bonded adsl circuits on a single IP address. This=20
is something that may need to be checked with your ISP and then we can=20
look at the options available.

Cisco 1721 router cost =A3475 each
Cisco wic1-adsl x 2 cost =A3270 each
Total =A31015

It's refurb kit, but for anyone with a spare 1k to spend I can put you=20
in touch...
