RE: EIB installation

The reason I've asked is because it looks like siemons have taken this
route
in the home automation market.
I've done a little bit of reading since last night and it seams that EIB
allows you to (power) wire the house as normal
but with an extra bus cable running along with the power.

I'm starting a new build in April and SWMBO (who is an Electrical Engineer
and will not be blinded by science) wants the the power wiring
to be standard (thinking about resale).  We've looked into x10 and have
decided that this isn't an option for reasons which have been outlined,
in this list, over recent weeks.  We are also looking at CBus, but again I
get the impression that the wiring is non standard.  At the moment it
looks like Siemons EIB is our best option.

IMO no, but I haven't looked at it in quite some time. Probably worth
noting that most companies that are using Polaron, Clipsal, Lutron,
etc.. don't seem to be considering EIB.
