Can anyone answer this one for me please.... It has originated from a work
place PAT testing excercise. This is something I am not involved in
personally but I have been asked the question and although I declared it as
out of my area of understanding I am interested in an explanation.

Basically it has been found that the typical non-surge protected 4-way
mains extension block will pass a PAT test. However, all of the surge
protected units have been found to fail the insulation aspect of the test.

I do not know the specifics of a PAT test and I certainly don't know why
this is. Does anyone have any experience of this or know why this may be?

Regards,

David
