Electrically it makes no difference, but you must pick one and be
consistant.

568A is recommended for all new installations, but have a look at your
patch panels - they may have the connections labelled according to just
one particular scheme, and if you don't follow it, you'll end up with
the green connected to the pins labelled as orange and vice-versa (which
although works, has the potential for confusion).

Also, don't be fooled if the panel is labelled 258A - that's the same as
568B!
